RE: LGBT issues, really?
It is astounding that a movement that had at its heart the liberation of human sexuality, and freedom from rigid gender identities has been perverted into a call for the "right" to kill other people for the state, or the "right" to be officially included in the state's hetero-normative definition of relationship. Certainly human equality is the basis of a civil society, but trying to assimilate into institutions (in an already unequal society) that are so based on hierarchies and inequalities themselves, only strengthens and makes pariah communities more vulnerable to a growing fascism in this country. Also, I want to slap the activator out of Jason Haas's hair - what a condescending, smug tool (perfect Obama rep to the "LGBTQ community" though)!
Does my support for gay
Does my support for gay rightsnot mean anything simplt because I don't support abortion as much as Democrats? The L.G.B.T. community and its supporters need to stop acting as just a group for liberals and start to embrace all who support L.G.B.T. equality.
